Comprehensive programs offered by WellWomanPT provide a variety of tailored physical therapy and wellness services focused on pelvic health, prenatal and postpartum care, and overall women’s health through out the lifespan. Below is a summary of our offerings:

Physical Therapy Services

1. New Patient Initial Evaluation (60-120 mins):  Comprehensive history review, start the physical exam testing, and 1-3 activities for home. Includes hand outs, and action plan and clear steps to help move you forward.

2. Treatment Sessions (60-120 mins):  Customized physical therapy, available in-person or virtually. May include internal and or external pelvic floor exam and treatment. Treatment for back pain, abdominal pain and weakness, bladder and bowel issues as well as pelvic girdle and pelvic floor pain. Vaginal and rectal manual therapy can be included. We get to the bottom of things (with consent). Myofascial release, organ (visceral fascial release) is our specialty with those with auto-immune, C-section, hysterectomy, and endo/adenomyosis pain, scar and adhesions.

We take a multi-prong approach using 1. Education so you know why and alleviate fear, 2. Highly skilled manual therapy to regulate the nervous system, 3. Somatic based exercise training; all customized for your preferences, settings and stages of life!

We make things manageable and as easy as possible as women’s lives are busy.

Our specialties in prenatal, postpartum and women’s pelvic health ages 18-64:

  1.  Return to Running Screen (postpartum or post-surgical). This is included in all of our pelvic floor programs as all women should feel confident to dance, jump, sprint (after children) for life long bone health and play.

  2.  Pessary Fitting for vaginal wall support. This helps with early postpartum care (8 weeks) and addresses the peri-menopausal changes to the fascia. This program is included in your pelvic physical therapy as needed.

  3.  Diastasis Recti recovery. Best started with in the first year of postpartum. Can start this prenatally to minimize DRA and maximize benefits after in postpartum.

  4.  Fertility Assistance. Visceral Fascial Mobilization program includes an initial evaluation plus attend monthly visits once a month for 2 or 3 months ; (must ovulate regularly and have viable sperm and eggs). Good for those who may have PCOS, Endo or scar tissue restrictions. 60% success rate with pregnancy per evidence based research. Must schedule treatment 3-5 days prior to your ovulation date and be able to have sexual relations the days after your treatment sessions.

  5.   Postpartum Recovery. Start 2-3 days postpartum; have therapeutic ultrasound to speed perineum healing from tears and support for C-section and OASIS tears. Infants are welcome; assistance with baby carrier is available to minimize strain on your perineum and abdominal wall. Infant feeding and sleep strategies as well as minimizing toileting trauma ( the dreaded constipation) is included. Help with clogged ducts and mastitis available too.

  6.   Pain management for pelvic girdle, bladder, back, hip, or coccyx pain. Acute and chronic pain conditions can be helped, sooner is better. Chronic pain is managed with life style modifications and nervous system regulation training. Myofascial and visceral fascial release is very helpful with chronic pain conditions.

  7.   Urinary and bowel Incontinence and constipation treatment. Bladder and bowel re-training is included.

  8.   Pre/Post-surgical recovery support (C-section, hysterectomy, prolapse repair, etc.) Highly recommend pre-op physical therapy to get inside tips of preventing constipation, pelvic floor damage, and early pain management and safe movement and toileting strategies as physical therapy is often not prescribed in the hospital or for 6 weeks. Waiting 6 weeks to learn how to heal your body is too late; only internal exams are held for 6 weeks. Get help early!

  9.   Sexual health coaching and vaginismus treatment. Trauma informed, vagus nerve stimulation.

  10.   Programs for EDS/hypermobility/POTS/lipedema/lymphedema. Learn how to stabilize joints and minimize injury during strength training. Lymphatic massage and referrals to medical experts who can help diagnose your condition is included. We quarterback your care while you get the answers you need as you progress in your rehab.

  11. Clogged Milk Duct Program: Available Evenings and Weekends! Text Us for Availability!

          •   Quick relief and prevention strategies for mastitis.  Includes 3 sessions (60-min + two 30-min (per breast) follow-ups). Holistic care, manual lymphatic drainage, and ergonomic assessment.  Evening and weekend appointments available.

  12. Wellness Prenatal Pelvic Floor Birth Prep (included with all prenatal physical therapy).

    • Recommended for all birthing women; start in second trimester to learn all the things to help prep for a gentle delivery and easier recovery. Includes post partum education to set you and your body up for success.   Evaluation, perineal massage to reduce tearing learn your pelvic floor’s favorite push positions biofeedback, and TENS training for labor pain control and postpartum recovery including C-section births.  Birth Partners are welcome to learn how to support you during birth.  Internal pelvic floor assessment and treatment (optional) is provided during second and third trimester. Must have clearance from your medical provider.  Comprehensive childbirth education, pelvic floor care, and mobility training.  Addresses physical and mental preparation for labor, delivery, and recovery. Recommended 1x/week for a minimum of 6 weeks for those with out any pelvic pain or dysfunction including back pain, urinary incontinence, or pelvic heaviness. Recommended in second and third trimester up through 42 weeks.
