Prolapse, often felt as heaviness or pressure, can be managed conservatively and effectively, so you stay active with confidence. We offer pelvic floor retraining and professional pessary fitting for support without surgery.

Signs of prolapse

  • A heavy or dragging feeling in the pelvis, often worse at the end of the day

  • A bulge you can feel or see

  • Bladder or bowel changes that come with the pressure

  • Incomplete bowel or bladder emptying

  • Urinary incontinence or leaks

  • Pelvic heaviness or pressure after standing or walking for a while

  • Feeling or seeing a bulge after straining while lifting or having a bowel movement

Pessary fitting

A pessary is a small, removable support device. After determining if you're a candidate, we can fit and manage your pessary right in the office as part of your care.

Before and after surgery

If a prolapse repair or hysterectomy is planned, pre-op pelvic floor physical therapy makes recovery faster and easier. Call us as soon as the date is set.

Common questions

Will it get worse if I exercise?

Prolapse may get worse with poor exercise technique. Even simple habits like getting out of bed, getting up from the floor and carrying groceries can worsen prolapse with poor form and technique.

Do I need a referral?

No. Georgia allows direct access to physical therapy. After 3 weeks or 8 sessions, whichever comes first, you'll need a referral. We help with this process.
